We love seeing how our colours are used in real homes and the burst of inspiration that comes with everyone’s unique style and creativity. The best way to choose a colour that’s right for you (and that you’re happy to live with!) is to order a painted swatch or sample pot to see how the colour looks in your home throughout the day.
But every now and then, we all need a little push to see the potential in a colour we might not have been inspired to use. In this blog, we’ll be sharing a few real homes and how Freckle, our Colour of the Year 2026, has warmed hearts and homes.
A ray of sunshine @LauraCCrombie
Laura uses Freckle as a warming ray of sunshine to bring life and warmth into her windowless bathroom.
The beautiful pop of colour at the top of the back wall creates a cosy connection within the space. It’s also a lovely example of how well Freckle works with contrasting colours. It draws from the depth of the blue to add warmth and unity without a harsh clash in tones.

A tonal wall transformation @countryheartdeb
We’re obsessed with how Deborah used Freckle and its versatility to create a unique tonal feature wall.
She simply mixed the colour with white to create stunning tonal variations that bring depth and character to the room. It’s a simple project that can be completed over the weekend, and the results add depth and a unique touch to your home. It’s also a great way to showcase your creativity and let your imagination run wild.

From bland to bold @renovating_twentysix
We love how Amelia added personality (and a little pumpkin spice!) to her hallway by painting the off-white paneling and walls in Freckle to welcome a cosy feel to the space.
She continued the warmth into her tiny downstairs loo too, and it’s amazing to see how the colour shifts throughout the day and in different lighting. Freckle adds a grounding, cosy feel that connects the two spaces while offering just a touch pf playful personality.

Fleeting fun to add some sparkle to dead space @thestanleydiary
If you’ve ever wondered what a touch of your own creativity and art could look like in your home, you’re in for a treat!
Leah used Freckle in the most unique way by adding a festive mural to her staircase, making her home feel truly hers. A fun gingham pattern, complete with simple, playful bows and trees, brought the mural together with a sparkle of festive magic. Bonus points for making use of leftover sample pots!

We hope you’ve enjoyed these unique ways Freckle has been welcomed into homes and we can’t wait to see how you use Freckle in your home. If you’re looking for colour pairings to build your moodboard or to help, make the choice with finer details, our Freckle colour hub has everything you need!
