A window seat makeover to make you smile
Let’s start with this cosy window seat, part of a bedroom in a charming heritage property in Essex. It’s the perfect place to curl up with a good book. Our highly breathable Claypaint is perfect for decorating in older properties - it allows moisture to pass through easily, helping to avoid damp and mould issues and letting the house breathe.
This small but simple nook needed just a touch of colour to completely transform the space and flood the room with warmth and light! Marzia chose a delightful colour scheme: Freckle in Claypaint for the walls and Dorothy in Eggshell No.17 for the woodwork. The playful contrast between the warm orange of Freckle and the true, honest blue of Dorothy is a pleasure to see.
The finishing touch that brings the space together is the fun striped detail at either end of the archway. It may be a small makeover, but it’s certainly a mighty one!
A living room reveal that’s full of maximalist dreams
Now that we’ve seen what Freckle can do with a small space, it’s time to see how it can bring just the right amount of playful energy to a room that’s bursting with bold details.
We absolutely love how Abbie’s mix of colours came together to create an interior that feels like a work of art. With a palette of Gosh Golly, Dorothy, Ballet Shoe and Freckle, we knew this room was going to be something special.
Starting with the ceiling in Gosh Golly, the eye is immediately drawn upward to take in all the detail. A refreshing hint of blue on the cabinets and mantel piece in Dorothy adds a calming pop. Ballet shoe provides a soft backdrop, while the star of the show, Freckle, shines in hand-painted stripes that pull the room together. The simple pattern of the stripes brings just enough personality to the colourful space.
To pull off this daring and brilliant striped design and achieve that perfectly playful yet imperfect balance, start by testing out the layout. Find the size and rhythm that work best for your room. A laser level is a quick and helpful tool for creating lines from your pre-marked guides, making it easier to paint directly along the beam.
