Creating a neutral bedroom colour palette with Tea with Ruby

6th September 2021

Bedroom - Tom's Bakery

There’s nothing we love more than seeing our paints used in real homes! And this gorgeous neutral bedroom update is no exception…

We recently worked with Instagrammer and blogger Jane, whose blog Tea with Ruby is a place of calm and quiet inspiration. Jane was redecorating her spare bedroom and wanted to use a neutral colour palette to tie in with the rest of her home. As well as being a spare room, it also functions as a laundry room, dressing room and work room.

Jane from Tea with Ruby used Tom's Bakery in Claypaint for her bedroom update

Jane explained:

‘It works hard but it also needs to be restful and calm and I avoid it becoming a dumping ground as often spare rooms do, that would drive me nuts, everything has to have its place.’

After trying out a couple of testers, we were delighted that Jane chose the warm, neutral shade Tom’s Bakery as the backdrop to this simple bedroom space:

‘It took no time at all to choose Tom’s Bakery as I knew that its softness would lighten and brighten the room but also add warmth with its wholesome warm bread dough palette.  I love a neutral that changes with the light too; Tom’s Bakery is simply perfect especially in the early evening when the light pours in.’

Along with a few other simple touches – including new linen curtains, a cream coloured daybed and a couple of antique mirrors – the soft tones of Tom’s Bakery help create a soothing and cosy space.
