Introducing Oliver Twig

Now that our 12 new colours are officially available to shop, we thought it would be nice to introduce each colour for you to get to know and share some colour pairings to help inspire your next decorating project.

We’re starting this series off strong with Oliver Twig, our olive green with a modern twist that’s already proving to be a fan favourite! Let’s jump in and explore Oliver Twig.

Oliver Twig pairs beautifully with greys and whites for a charming, classic look. It’s an ideal colour for living rooms and dining rooms but we’ve also seen it look lovely in hallways and bedrooms as well.

When decorating it’s important to understand the direction of natural light as it can make a big difference and dramatically influences how colours appear.

Luckily, Oliver Twig works beautifully in both north and south facing rooms making it a gorgeous choice for most homes.

Our favourite greys to pair with Oliver Twig for south facing spaces are Mr Mole and Nellie as their coolness balances out the warmth that comes with the direct sunlight that generally floods south facing rooms.

If you have a north facing room, then you’d just love Cat’s Cradle and Trilby as they have warmer under tones to brighten up the usually darker spaces as they receive less sunlight throughout the day.

If you’re looking for Oliver Twig to be the main character then we suggest you pair it with a reliable white for a crisp classic look that will elevate your space and add a modern twist.

Painting a north facing room? White Clay would be our go to, as it’s a natural white it creates a perfect soft sanctuary.

For south facing rooms, you can’t go wrong with Flutterby, it brings a neutral crisp feel to the space, as it’s nearly white but not quite. It looks lovely in naturally sunny rooms.

If you’re looking for something different, Pale Pip is a modern alternative to white. Its green undertone adds a fresh feel to all spaces.

Has Oliver Twig got you feeling inspired and ready to paint?

We thought so! It’s hard not to love such a muted earthy green especially in our signature Claypaint finish.

If you’re still on the fence or having trouble choosing which stunning colour scheme to go for, then order a painted swatch or 100ml sample pot and test it out for yourself in your home.
