Colour of the Year 2025 : Crocky Road

2nd January 2025

Crocky Road dinning room

Earthborn Colour of the Year 2025: Crocky Road

We are excited to announce our Colour of the Year for 2025 is Crocky Road – a warm beige with subtle heritage-inspired green and yellow undertones.

A true Victorian colour perfect for older properties, Crocky Road is grounding and versatile, connecting your customers with the rich and earthy tones of the natural world. This heritage buff in the distinctive ultra matt finish of Claypaint, not only enhances the features typical of period properties but also protects, by allowing walls to breathe. A beautiful pairing with other neutrals, or the ideal subtle backdrop when paired with a bolder colour scheme, Crocky Road is both dynamic and timeless.

As a warm neutral, Crocky Road is suitable for north, south, east and west facing rooms. In darker spaces, it helps to naturally brighten, while in lighter rooms, the soft green undertones help to balance the harsh light by reflecting it back into the space – resulting in a truly amenable wall colour for all room types.

Whether your customers complement Crocky Road with vibrant, saturated colours like Balloon Ride or Can-Can, or opt for warm, harmonious hues such as Marbles and Straw, Crocky Road offers a back-to-basics tone that is both reliable and playful.

This heritage buff in the distinctive ultra matt finish of Claypaint, not only enhances the features typical of period properties but also protects, allowing walls to breathe once more. Modern paints can trap moisture within walls, leading to issues such as damp, mould, blown bricks, and bubbling or peeling paint. These common problems can be a particular concern in older properties where materials may be less resilient or previously incorrect paint or plaster has been used.
