It’s been a busy year for Earthborn, as our paints have been used on some very interesting projects and we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with some exciting brands and people! Here we showcase some of our favourite case studies from 2018…
Back in early spring we featured this picture-perfect cottage, where owner Tracy decided to use our breathable Claypaint and eco-friendly Eggshell for her stunningly beautiful 16th century property. Using a subtle palette of soft greys and warm green paint colours that perfectly complement the cottage’s original features, this has to be one our favourite historic properties.
On a slightly grander scale, this Category B1 Listed country house in Scotland was saved from dereliction by its owners following many years of neglect. The owners sympathetically renovated ‘Hallyards’ by using appropriate materials and breathable Claypaint. Click here to read more about this amazing project.
In the summer we also showcased another beautifully historic property that used Earthborn paints – this time inside and out. This Grade II listed medieval hall was built from Devon cob and featured ornate plasterwork inside. The owners used Earthborn Claypaint for the interior of the property and our breathable Ecopro Silicate Masonry System for the exterior, resulting in a stunning project.
Throughout 2018 we’ve also been lucky to see some truly inspiring new build projects using Earthborn paints. This tiny London property proves that nice things really do come in small packages! Featuring on Channel 4’s Grand Designs, the house was built along Passive Haus lines so it made sense for the owners to use Earthborn’s eco-friendly paints. No less impressive is this oak-frame building that was a labour of love for owner Joe Shimbart. He used natural materials such as oak beams and breathable Claypaint for the interior, resulting in a bright, airy and eco-friendly modern home.

And finally Stitch by Stitch, where we provided our dramatic blue paint Button Tin, which was used as a show-stopping backdrop to the exhibition ‘From Rain to Loom’, showing a series of handcrafted textiles as part of London Design Festival 2018.
