A true eco alternative to conventional paints

14th May 2015

At Earthborn it was always our aim to create a range of paints which offer a healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional paints. We list all our ingredients on the tin because our paints have nothing to hide. We also believe that our customers should have this information so they are able to make an informed choice about the products they buy.

We’re proud to have been awarded the prestigious European Ecolabel, a unique accreditation that is truly independent of any profit making organisation. It was awarded to our paints because they meet the strict environmental and performance criteria of the EU ecolabelling scheme. Earthborn is the proud holder of the first UK licence for indoor paints. (Licence No. UK/7/001)

In addition to this our Wood Stain and Eggshell paints are certified by the German testing authority TŨV to be totally free from VOCs and other harmful emissions.

Earthborn Claypaint, Eggshell, Wood Stain and Ecopro Emulsion have all been independently certified *EN71-3:1995 compliant. This means they are suitable for painting children’s toys, cots and other items making them an ideal choice for nurseries and children’s bedrooms as well as toy projects.

It’s fair to say that there are lots of paint brands out there laying claim to environmental credentials. Our advice is to always look out for the Ecolabel flower logo and a full list of ingredients displayed clearly on the tin.
