Earthborn colour inspiration from Furniture Choice

17th February 2020

Open plan kitchen and lounge with greenery.

Furniture Choice is a successful online furniture retailer creating stylish yet affordable furniture for the home. Like Earthborn, their website and social channels are not only a place for customers to buy their products, but also offer room and decor ideas and interior design inspiration.

So we were thrilled when Furniture Choice decided to use Earthborn paint colours as the backdrop to their brand new eco trend, The Green Indoors.

The Green Indoors

The Green Indoors trend is far more than just giving your home a fresh new look. While showcasing some of their key furniture pieces, Furniture Choice was committed from the outset to creating a ‘greener’ photoshoot. By making each element of the look as environmentally friendly as possible, they chose to use natural materials and eco-friendly products, right down to the paint on the walls!

How to create a greener home

Rebecca Snowden is the Interior Style Advisor at Furniture Choice. Here she shares her 4 top tips on how to create a greener home:

1. Start with upcycling old furniture…

A sustainable process in which used objects are transformed into new products of higher value. The key is to pick a simple DIY project, such as repainting your headboard in the bedroom. Earthborn’s Eco Chic Claypaint for furniture is ideal!

Our vivid woodland green Hobby Wood adds vibrancy to this home office and allows the plants to really shine. While the half painted wall in Sunday Stroll and Gregory’s Den is calming in this bedroom

2. Switch to eco-friendly products…

Such as non-toxic paint, which reduces harm to the environment and creates a clean breathing space at home. The home is the best place to bring the positive qualities of non-toxic paint and the psychological benefits of colours together.

3. With proper care, let houseplants flourish…

By allowing plenty of room for experimentation. Starting an indoor garden is a sustainable and self-sufficient solution for urban living. The herbs, fruits or vegetables can later be used for cooking.

4. Use the concept of biophilia…

Which combines a love of nature and innovative design to improve health and wellbeing at home. The calming elements of nature are a welcome respite to the senses in the chaotic world we live in. Turn your focus towards natural and breathable materials such as a linen sofa and cotton cushion covers to give the space a cosy and practical touch. The ambience here is not just for aesthetics, it also delivers a positive impact on our lifestyle.

We think Rebecca’s advice is a perfect way to start living a little more sustainably at home. We also love how Furniture Choice have encapsulated the Green Indoors (a ‘long term’ trend) through material choices, eco products and of course, thoughtful colour selection!
