Christmas painting projects to bring on the festive cheer

12th December 2017

Christmas theme mood board.

With Christmas just around the corner many of us will be starting to think about taking the monumental festive step of putting up our Christmas decorations (if we haven’t already).

Christmas is the ideal time to get stuck into some fun and festive craft projects that will not only make your home look like a winter wonderland, but will provide an ideal project for young children that can be treasured for years to come.

The options are endless, from using materials that can be found outdoors to those that require a small purchase, but either way, a touch of paint can make the world of difference.

For the adults there are numerous things that you can re-create to bring the festive cheer into your home, from painting intricate pictures onto baubles, to creatively painting mason jars to hold your festive candles, painting pine cone Christmas wreaths to DIY wine bottle decorations. You can even use your painting expertise to give a new lease of life to older Christmas decorations, whether it be refreshing the colour or changing colours entirely to suit a new festive palette.

For those wanting to take part in some creative tasks with the children this year and get them involved in decorating the home for Christmas, we have found some great options. From DIY penguin baubles to popsicle stick Christmas trees, nativity story stones to pinecone trees, there is something to keep all ages festively occupied during the Christmas period.
